Segment 11 of the Waitukubuli National Trail is one of the hardest and longest hikes which traverses the north- central part of the island passing through Morne Diablotin National Park. It offers the opportunity for bird watching such as parrots and other fauna in their natural and un-disturbed habitats. It also showcases a mix of wild rivers, prime forest, farmlands, history and heritage as well as city and rural life. Segment 11 begins from Syndicate and ends at Borne and takes one approximately seven (7) hours to hike this 13.2 km trail. Segment 11 is best suited for nature lovers and has the only Old Railway on the island.
Other areas of interest on this segment are horseback riding, Dubam Falls, parrot reserve and the Agricultural Station at one mile Portsmouth. One can find clump of the biggest Bois Rouge on island. There are also camping potential located at Ross Castle and Syndicate.
